29th Mini-Triathlon
VIC records for both Ruth and Alfred, a thrilling finish when Peter passed Alfred, PRs by many participants. This was triathlon no. 1 for Bill, but no. 11 for Patrick and no. 13 for Graeme. Congratulations to all participants !

High temperature, high humidity: some runners almost collapsed in the third lap, others ran a PR.
Poor Gerald stepped on a pine cone and twisted his ankle but a silver medal will console him maybe - all the best !
All teams showed big enthusiasm and good spirit. Pictures from this event (thank you, Bob and John) will soon be on the net.
Due to injuries and other committments, some teams had to be re-composed a little right before the start.
Weather was terrific, maybe a little bit too hot, and for the upcoming 10k on Thursday we could do with a few centigrades less.
For the first time, a nordic walker team took part.
There were some discussions about the starting point for this race - we probably will have to remeasure the course once more. Interesting duel between the two Julias; it is a shame that the IAEA-Julia will only be around for one month. Maria-Julia's baby is due in a few weeks but she walked 1 mile, nevertheless.
Matthew missed his own VIC record by only one second. He is reveiling (part of) his secrets to all those who join in the VICRunners' weekly track training.
Today's race was part of Matthew's interval training - he repeated the mile afterwards twice in approx. the same time or even a little faster.
PRs for the Chrises only.
Wilma has not missed a VICRunners event since last year's July triathlon.
The old saying "they never come back" certainly does not apply for the VICRunners - Peter Grimsditch (former UNOV and IAEA staff member) is here on a visit from Geneva and joined us again after almost 9 years.
Welcome to Nicole, Wasan and Chris who took part for the first time today and hopefully are not discouraged - the mile distance is very demanding and not easy to start with.
Congratulations to Julia for rank number 5 in the mile top 100 and to Alain for his only PR !
Yesterday's course inspection did not reveal any problems, but overnight rain and snow turned the dry corners into pools. Nevertheless, eight runners were not turned away by the wet conditions.
Christina set up a PR improving her record from almost 14 years ago by more than 6 minutes - this brings her to rank 21 in the top 100. Congratulations !
